Stephen J. Smelser, R.G.

B.S. in Geology, Arizona State University, 1984

Mr. Smelser is a Registered Geologist with experience on a wide variety of environmental and geologic project.  His experience includes conducting geotechnical studies, environmental site assessments, hydrogeological investigations, underground storage tank (UST) investigations, and indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations.  He personally directed field operations for numerous geotechnical site evaluations and has participated in the preparation of geotechnical reports.  Mr. Smelser has performed hundreds of Phase I and II ESAs and has provided peer review for numerous additional ESAs.  He has also directed field operations for soil and groundwater contamination studies, including groundwater monitoring well installation and sampling programs for several State of Arizona Superfund (WQARF) sites.  Mr. Smelser has been involved on a variety of projects ranging in complexity from UST removal and Phase I ESAs, through complex Phase II site investigations and eventual site remediation and/or risk assessment, and site closure.
