DESCRIPTION: Mesa Riverview is a 249-acre mixed-use commercial development in Mesa. The project will feature a lifestyle, entertainment and shopping center with 1.3 million square feet of retail (170 acres of retail); approximately 500,000 square feet of two-story offices on the east side (38 acres of office); an auto mall with three to five dealerships on the west side (33 acres of auto); and a hotel (8 acres dedicated to the hotel). Mesa Riverview features the Valley's first Cinemark Theatres (16 screens, all stadium seating).

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

GEC conducted geotechnical exploration services for Phase I of the Mesa Riverview retail development.  Phase I of the development includes approximately 225,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and theater development along with the associated paved parking and drive areas.  GEC has also conducted engineering observation and testing during construction.  GEC provided recommendations for spread footing foundations on compacted fill; lateral design pavements, floor slab support, asphalt and concrete pavements, excavations conditions, and fill materials.
